We're on the hunt for an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our team in Houma! You'll be working with a fantastic local company that values your skills and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Check out what you'll be up to:

• Processing and making sure vendor invoices and expense vouchers are paid on time, while keeping records and control reports accurate
• Tracking all AP invoice entries and account coding, as well as invoice entry
• Reviewing and reconciling supplier statements, sorting out any discrepancies promptly, and helping to maintain good supplier relationships
• Managing the approval process and accuracy of all accounts payable invoices, collaborating with project managers, purchasing, and operations personnel
• Handling the monthly closing and posting of month-end financial info, ensuring coding is spot on
• Teaming up with Treasury to handle payments and pitching in with forecasting when needed
• Supervising daily department activities to ensure everything's done right and on time
• Double-checking work by verifying entries and cross-referencing system reports with balances
• Processing monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
• Assisting with annual 1099 forms
• Keeping historical records tidy
• Lending a hand with annual audits
• Tackling any special projects that come your way

Prerequisites:

• Extensive knowledge of accounts payable procedures, purchasing processes, general accounting processes, and account coding to ensure the smooth running of the accounts payable department.
• Strong organizational skills for managing invoices, payments, and resolving any discrepancies effectively.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal team members.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, to manage financial data and create reports.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve payment discrepancies and other accounting issues.
• Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance related to financial and accounting practices.

Qualifications: 

EDUCATION: Degree in Accounting or Business and/or accreditation as a Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) preferred. Relative work experience in the capacity of Accounts Payable Manager, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in Accounting/Accounts Payable
