Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with experience or interest in the restoration industry. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including job costing, invoicing, payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to handle a fast-paced environment typical in restoration and emergency service work.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable, including client billing and vendor payments
Generate and send customer invoices based on job completion and scope of work
Track job costs and profitability, including labor, equipment, and materials
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and petty cash
Process employee timesheets and assist with payroll
Manage lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and other compliance documents as needed
Assist in preparing financial reports for management and insurance company audits
Communicate with project managers to ensure accurate job billing and expense tracking
Work closely with insurance carriers and adjusters regarding billing, supplements, and payments
Support year-end close and tax preparation with external accountants
2+ years of bookkeeping experience; restoration or construction industry experience preferred
Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Xero)
Familiarity with restoration job management software (e.g., Xactimate, JobNimbus, DASH, Encircle) a plus
Strong understanding of job costing and financial tracking
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with field staff and clients
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
