Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with experience or interest in the restoration industry. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including job costing, invoicing, payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to handle a fast-paced environment typical in restoration and emergency service work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable, including client billing and vendor payments

  • Generate and send customer invoices based on job completion and scope of work

  • Track job costs and profitability, including labor, equipment, and materials

  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and petty cash

  • Process employee timesheets and assist with payroll

  • Manage lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and other compliance documents as needed

  • Assist in preparing financial reports for management and insurance company audits

  • Communicate with project managers to ensure accurate job billing and expense tracking

  • Work closely with insurance carriers and adjusters regarding billing, supplements, and payments

  • Support year-end close and tax preparation with external accountants


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience; restoration or construction industry experience preferred

  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Xero)

  • Familiarity with restoration job management software (e.g., Xactimate, JobNimbus, DASH, Encircle) a plus

  • Strong understanding of job costing and financial tracking

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with field staff and clients

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
