Position: Receptionist/Insurance Customer Services
Duties Include:
Answer incoming calls from employee benefit insurance plan members and providers; providing answers to their questions related to plan benefits, claims and claim payment.
Receive, review and delegate incoming faxes via email.
Process incoming mail for distribution.
Correspond with medical providers, plan members, by phone, email and online portal. Maintain working relationship with nurse case managers and claims processors. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies. Help with duties/special projects of other departments as needed.
Education, Knowledge, Experience:
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Knowledge and use of CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Knowledge of medical insurance including plan deductible, co-insurance, out-of-pocket, PPO Networks, etc.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare administration functions, including claims processing, eligibility verification, provider verification and preauthorization desirable. • Third Party Administrator knowledge and experience a plus. • Experience in many facets of the managed healthcare insurance business.
