The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes inspecting deliveries, preparing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of materials. This role plays a vital part in keeping the supply chain running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies
- Prepare outgoing shipments according to shipping requirements
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and location
- Ensure proper storage and organization of materials in the warehouse
- Label shipments with appropriate information
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
