We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technician to join our team in Vicksburg. The MLT will be responsible for performing routine laboratory tests and procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases.
Collect, prepare, and test specimens such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., microscopes, cell counters, analyzers).
Record and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results.
Maintain lab inventory and order supplies as needed.
Participate in quality control and assurance processes.
Adhere to confidentiality regulations and medical ethics.
Lifting up to 25 pounds
May involve exposure to biological hazards and infectious materials.
Requires standing for long periods and working with specialized equipment.
Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
Certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred OR qualify to take the board with plans to take within a year.
Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work schedule:
Monday-Thursday 7:45am-4:15pm. Possible opportunity to work Friday's in Jackson.
