We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pressure and Water Testing Technician to conduct water and pressure testing on newly installed or repaired water mains, pipelines, plumbing systems, and related infrastructure. This role ensures all systems meet applicable standards and are leak-free before being placed into service.
Perform hydrostatic pressure testing and chlorination/disinfection testing on water mains, plumbing systems, and other pressurized water systems.
Conduct leak detection, flow testing, and water sampling procedures in compliance with local and industry standards.
Set up testing equipment including pumps, gauges, valves, hoses, and meters.
Prepare sites for testing, ensuring proper isolation and system integrity.
Monitor and record pressure levels throughout the test cycle; identify and report leaks, pressure drops, or other anomalies.
Flush systems as required and follow procedures for safe dechlorination and environmental discharge.
Complete and submit accurate test reports, logs, and documentation.
Work in collaboration with site supervisors, contractors, inspectors, and utility representatives.
Adhere to all safety procedures, site-specific protocols, and environmental regulations.
Maintain testing equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and coordinate calibrations as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade certification is a plus.
1–3 years of relevant experience in water pressure testing, plumbing, or utility infrastructure.
Knowledge of water testing standards (e.g., AWWA, local municipal codes).
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Experience using pressure gauges, test pumps, chlorination equipment, and meters.
Strong attention to detail and safety.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding environments.
OSHA 10/30 certification
Confined space entry certification
Knowledge of environmental discharge and chlorination/dechlorination procedures
Prior experience in civil utility construction or plumbing inspection
