Job Description

The warehouse supervisor position is responsible for supervising the HVAC warehouse employees. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvement in equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Essential Functions for the supervisor

  1. Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and developments.
  2. Make employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  3. Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  4. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to superintendent.
  5. Provide leadership to departmental employees.
  6. Manage product quality by ensuring proper equipment operation, proper burning protocol, proper set up and controls and proper observation.
  7. Perform accident investigations and report accident to HR.
  8. Maintain proper inventory levels.
  9. Manage department priorities.
  10. Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  11. Perform and/or assist in equipment maintenance and repairs.

Supervisory Responsibility for the burning supervisor

  1. This position manages all employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.

  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and be astute to any changes. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work for the burning supervisor

  1. This is a full-time position. This position is generally 40 hours per week with varied work days.
  2. Frequent evening and occasional weekend or off days may be required as job duties demand.

Travel for the burning supervisor

  1. No travel is expected for this position.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience for the burning supervisor

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Mechanical and/or technical training.
  3. 3 - 5 years of experience in a warehouse supervising position.

Preferred Education and Experience for the burning supervisor

  1. Managerial experience.

Skills required for the supervisor

  1. Must be a "people person"
