(Oil Field) Valve Technician
Are responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of valves used in oil and gas production. They inspect and service various types of valves (such as swivel, choke, and loop valves) to ensure proper operation, prevent leaks, and maintain safety standards. The role involves reading technical diagrams, using specialized tools, and adhering to safety and industry regulations while working on-site in oilfields or in a workshop environment.
Inspect and Test Valves – Check valves for wear, damage, or malfunction using pressure tests and diagnostic equipment.
Install and Remove Valves – Set up or dismantle valves on oilfield equipment, pipelines, or wellheads.
Perform Maintenance and Repairs – Clean, lubricate, rebuild, or replace valve components as needed to ensure proper function.
Recordkeeping – Maintain detailed logs of inspections, repairs, test results, and replacement parts.
Follow Safety Procedures – Comply with all company and industry safety standards, especially in high-pressure environments.
Read Blueprints and Schematics – Understand technical drawings and specifications to ensure correct valve installation and servicing.
Collaborate with Team Members – Work closely with engineers, rig operators, and other technicians to coordinate valve-related tasks.
Operate Tools and Equipment – Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and testing devices safely and effectively.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have experience in inspecting, hydro testing, and maintenance.
