We are seeking a skilled and creative Cake Decorator with a focus on King Cakes to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate has experience in baking, filling, and decorating traditional and custom King Cakes, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for seasonal and festive confections.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, decorate, and finish King Cakes according to traditional recipes and customer specifications
Mix, roll, and shape dough; fill with various fillings (e.g., cinnamon, cream cheese, fruit)
Apply colorful icing, sugars, and decorative elements associated with Mardi Gras traditions (purple, green, and gold)
Insert baby figurines in accordance with tradition and safety standards
Customize King Cakes for special orders and events
Ensure all products meet quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation in compliance with health and safety regulations
Manage inventory of decorating supplies and ingredients
Collaborate with other bakers and staff to meet daily production goals, especially during peak Mardi Gras season
Requirements:
Prior experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or bakery production
Familiarity with King Cake traditions and decoration styles
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and artistic ability
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
