The paraprofessional supports teachers in providing high-quality instruction and supervision to students. This role assists with classroom management, instructional activities, behavior support, and individualized or small-group learning. The paraprofessional helps create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that supports student growth and success.
Assist the teacher in implementing instructional lessons and activities.
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
Prepare classroom materials, supplies, and learning centers.
Support students in completing assignments and understanding new concepts.
Help maintain an orderly, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
Monitor students in various settings such as classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, or bus loading areas.
Support positive behavior strategies and reinforce school expectations.
Assist students with special needs (academic, behavioral, emotional, or physical) as directed.
Provide accommodations and modifications according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans.
Support communication between students and teachers, helping to clarify directions and expectations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
Assist with grading simple assignments, organizing materials, or managing classroom technology.
Participate in professional development and training as required by the school or district.
High school diploma or equivalent (some districts require Associate’s degree or minimum college credits).
Meets state paraprofessional certification requirements.
Experience working with children preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow teacher direction, maintain confidentiality, and support diverse learners.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, or assist students for extended periods.
May require lifting, positioning, or supporting students with physical needs.
Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
This position follows a four-day weekly schedule. Occasional meetings, training sessions, or school events may require attendance outside these hours with advance notice.
School-based setting with daily interaction with students, teachers, and staff.
May involve occasional outdoor supervision or assisting in various school areas.
