Job Description: Housing Support Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Advocate to join our team and provide crucial support to individuals and families facing homelessness due to domestic or sexual violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and advocacy for individuals and families experiencing homelessness due to domestic or sexual violence.
  • Assist clients in identifying and securing affordable, stable housing.
  • Help clients navigate housing programs to ensure successful placement.
  • Offer crisis intervention and safety planning for clients in need.
  • Responsible for accurate data collection and reporting for evaluation and funding purposes.
  • Coordinate housing stability advocacy efforts.
  • Manage budgets related to client assistance funds.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must pass in-depth background checks to include State and Federal criminal history and employment history.
  • Valid driver’s license and operational, registered and insured vehicle.
  • Degree in social services, human development and family studies, education or community health services or related field preferred.
  • Position requires on-call for 21 days per year (additional compensation is provided for on-call time).
  • Requires travel between Terrebonne and Lafourche offices multiple times per week.
