Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Avionics Technician to join our helicopter maintenance team in Houma, LA. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining avionics systems on various helicopter models to ensure safe and efficient operation in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards. The schedule for this position is 14 days on/ 14 days off with housing provided and daily per diem during on days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems including navigation, communication, autopilot, and instrumentation.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections and system checks to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with FAA airworthiness directives and service bulletins.
  • Document all maintenance activities clearly and accurately in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, pilots, and maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft readiness.
  • Stay current with new avionics technologies and industry best practices.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety and quality control standards.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or avionics certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working on avionics systems, preferably in rotorcraft or helicopter operations.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or FAA Repairman Certificate (required).
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with systems such as Garmin, Collins, Honeywell, or similar avionics suites.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
